"Wikipedia is free on the web, right? Why spend even a couple bucks to wrap it in an app. The answer is interface. You can do far more, far more easily, with a native app than you can do with a web page." – Rene Ritchie, iMore

"There are a bunch of dedicated Wikipedia iPhone apps, and there are several I like. But I like Articles best. It’s fast, it looks great (including the formatting of articles), and it has a very clever MobileSafari-inspired UI." – John Gruber, Daring Fireball

Pros and cons of Articles for iPhone app for iPhone and iPad

Articles for iPhone app good for

Under bookmarks you can find a surprise me entry which is very nice to discover new things.
Just installing this app increased my IQ by 20 points. Every exquisite word you read makes you feel smarter. Oh, its also awesome.
Ive had it for 20 minutes and I already dont know how I ever did without it.
JAIME BEAUCOUP AND ITS NOT AN APRIL FISH  THANK YOU  STEVE V.
This is by far the best looking and functional Wikipedia application for iPhone/iPad. I tried quite a few of them and they all do not come even close, in my opinion. You really cannot go wrong with this one!
I find Articles much easier to use than any other Wikipedia apps Ive tried. On top of that, it is stunningly beautiful. I have several of the Sophiestication apps, and love them all! Keep it up!

Some bad moments

Despite the app description, double-tapping and holding does not call up a chapter index. Without it, I have to scroll endlessly through the article to find what I am looking for. How do we bring up an index?
I already had Wikibot, so the only reason I bought this app was because of its ability to store articles for reading them later offline. The problem is that when you are offline and you open an article that have been stored that way, youd better read it right then, because it will disappear as soon as youll close it and you wont be able to read it offline later. Another way would be to think to copy it somewhere else, but then it would be simpler to copy it the first time around and theres no benefit for me to use this app instead of Wikibot. If this app would let us keep the article for ulterior use and decide when its time to delete it, it would worth 5 stars for me, but now I dont find it very useful.
The application is great, but on an iPhone no images will load. Dont buy until this is fixed!
Now crashes almost as much as the New York Times app. Goodbye.
Used to be a great app. This update is not compatible on older ipod touch.
Basically, the only thing updated is iOS 7 and an uglier icon/logo. This will not be on my home screen. Why am I using this instead of Safari again? Oh yeah, I dont.
